According to preliminary statistics of the General Department of Vietnam Customs, in the first six months of 2021, the export of plastic products increased sharply by 41.5% over the same period in 2020, reaching nearly US$2.33 billion, accounting for 1.5% of the total export turnover of all kinds of goods of the whole country. At the same time, the country’s plastic industry has imported 5.33 million tons of plastic materials worth US$8.86 billion, up 9.2% in volume and 47.9% in value over the same period in 2020.
